Memories

She will present the album live starting in September, first in Havana, then in Palma, Valencia, and Barcelona’s Liceu (October 13), major highlights of ‘50 Anys d’escenaris,’ which also includes other significant concerts. Among them are performances that will respectively reconstruct two 1979 albums: ‘Quico – Maria del Mar,’ with Pi de la Serra (February 10, at Teatre Joventut, as part of Barnasants), and ‘Saba de terrer’ (June 2, at CAT, Tradicionàrius).

Next year, there will be time for a charity concert in support of refugees, in collaboration with Open Arms, for an exhibition dedicated to her longtime photographer, the late Toni Catany, which will open in Llucmajor, and for a book of memoirs and reflections. Before that, she will give concerts this Wednesday and Thursday at the Lluïsos d’Horta theater, where she performed at the beginning of her career, during her years as a neighborhood resident.

All of this was announced by her manager, Yanni Munujos, and the curator of the ‘Bonet Year,’ Oriol Ferrer, at L’Ovella Negra, a gathering where the singer blew out the candles on a rather surreal 50th-anniversary cake made of ensaimadas and performed two pieces with guitarist Borja Penalba: ‘Mercè,’ inspired by her mother, and ‘Sempre hi ha vent,’ dedicated to all singers. The currents will continue to accompany her in 2017.
